Through a message on his Twitter account, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) explained that it was made in follow-up to the telephone call that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and President-elect Biden sustained, on 19 December 2020.
Following up on President López Obrador’s call to President Elect Biden, I held a dialogue with Jake Sullivan, designated National Security Advisor @jakesullivan. We agree on the importance of our relationship and the coincidences that will guide it ”, wrote the Chancellor on his account @m_ebrard.
So far, the official or the SRE have not issued any statement about the events that occurred in the city of Washington DC, where a group of supporters of President Donald Trump took over the Capitol facilities.
