The State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, invites the public to support Chihuahua’s tourist attractions participating in the 2026 Excellence Awards and Best of Mexico competitions.
Voting for the first of these competitions concludes today.
In the Culture category, the Magical Town of Guachochi is participating with the tradition of “Los Pintos,” representative of Rarámuri Holy Week.
In the Nature category, the Magical Town of Creel, renowned for its landscapes in the Sierra Tarahumara, is nominated, as is Guachochi, with the Light Feet Corridor project, which highlights the Rarámuri community’s connection to the natural environment.

The voting platform for the “Best of Mexico 2026” awards, organized by México Desconocido magazine, remains open. Chihuahua has received six nominations.

Among the nominees are the Chihuahua Ultra Marathon by UTMB, for Best Sporting Event to Enjoy in a Stunning Setting; the Rarámuri Holy Week, for Best Experience Combining Nature and Spirituality; and Guachochi, for Best Magical Town to Experience an Adventure in Nature.
Also nominated are the Valley of the Monks in the Magical Town of Creel, as Best Destination – a hidden gem; the Paquimé Archaeological Route in Casas Grandes, as Best Tourist Route; and the experience of traveling through the Copper Canyon aboard the Chepe train, as Best Experience to Live at Least Once in a Lifetime.
