At a time when the country is going through one of the most critical moments of the Covid-19 pandemic, Campeche, one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Mexico, is the only state that remains on an “Epidemiological” green traffic light, with the lowest incident of contagions nationwide.
According to Campeche State health authorities, the state remains in this color within the epidemiological traffic light, because it has reinforced the application of national and international biosafety protocols in order to mitigate the spread of the virus at its highest level.
Despite the fact that in the state all kinds of activities can be carried out on a regular basis, the authorities take into account as a primary measure the use of mouth covers and work with the tourism sector to generate confidence in visitors.
In a statement, the Campeche Tourism Secretariat announced that it implemented a strategy that allowed tourism companies to operate with hygiene and sanitation measures, to reduce the risks of transmission of Covid-19, granting them Good Safety Practices. and Hygienic Quality in the provision of tourist services “Punto Limpio“, from the Federal Tourism Secretariat.
In addition, he emphasized that an agreement was signed with the State Health Secretariat (Copriscam), in order to offer the providers of State lodging services an online training program and face-to-face verification that allowed them to apply the Health Protocols, with which is credited with the Responsible Company certificate.|
Recently, the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), named Campeche as a safe destination through the Safe Travels Stamp, since it has approved global health protocols that provide confidence and safety to visitors.
The head of the Ministry of Tourism, Jorge Enrique Manos Esparragoza, highlighted the commitment of tourism service providers, which has generated confidence in tourists.
“Campeche in green traffic light increases its tourist influx, mainly of national tourism. With the teamwork of the agencies and personnel whose priority is the security of the State, today Campeche has Governance and is a safe destination for visitors ”, Manos explained.
Only in the last December holiday season, this state reached 45 percent in hotel occupancy, with national visitors, mainly from central Mexico and the region of the Yucatan Peninsula. Satisfaction surveys indicated that most of the families decided to visit the entity because they were at a green traffic light.
In this same period, the airlines Aeroméxico, Volaris, and Viva Aerobus, consolidated their routes to Campeche, reaching an average occupancy of 76 percent.
“In this stage of the pandemic, Campeche is the best option for visitors to reactivate tourism in a responsible manner, visiting the natural and cultural attractions of the State,” said Manos Esparragoza.
