The president recalled that the main thing is to respect the right to life, but the right to education must also be guaranteed.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador asked the authorities of Campeche and Chiapas to open the schools, as both entities have been on the green light for several weeks. These actions also seek to benefit teachers in these states, who could be the first to be vaccinated against covid-19.
During his morning conference, the president pointed out that teachers in Chiapas are already teaching classes, although this situation is not replicated throughout the state or in Campeche, since “they want to solve the pandemic very well.”
“I make a respectful call to them, especially to the authorities, that we begin to open the schools and that, if they are preparing, in the case of Campeche, of Chiapas, they would be the first teachers to be vaccinated,” he said.
López Obrador pointed out that the teachers of these states would receive the antigen from Pfizer, since the two doses necessary for its operation can be easily transported to the vaccination centers, due to the logistics of the airports in Campeche, Ciudad del Carmen, and even Merida.
“The main thing is the right to life, but we also have to guarantee the right to education. We have to go towards normal education, it is a purpose, that is why the application of the vaccine to teachers ”, he said.
