The Mayor of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, refuses to acknowledge his defeat for the candidacy for the government of Sinaloa and affirms that he will challenge the decision of Mario Delgado, Morena’s national leader, to decide, according to polls, for Senator Rubén Rocha Moya.
With this attitude, the “party became small compared to the political and moral stature of López Obrador.” He ruled out that he was going to give up Morena.
In his apparent excesses, he accused Mario Delgado of having excluded him from the election process, after the candidacy decision took into account the accusations against Benítez Torres that were made against him for workplace harassment and gender violence in the figure of the attorney general, Elsa Bojórquez Mascareño, among other arguments.
In addition, he called for Morena to become a “small party compared to the political stature of the President of the Republic.
He warned that with this decision in favor of Rocha Moya the possibility of winning the governorship of Sinaloa could be lost.
