The outcome feared by the community of Aldama was confirmed this Thursday. The bodies of Elizabeth, Abel, and Israel Soto Núñez, siblings who had been missing since Monday, January 6, were found lifeless in a secluded spot beside the highway connecting Aldama and Ojinaga.
The discovery, which mobilized various security agencies, occurred approximately at kilometer 57 of the aforementioned toll road.
Laura is denouncing her ex-partner, Antonio, who allegedly tried to kill her with a machete in Xochimilco.
According to official reports, the discovery was made possible thanks to an anonymous tip that alerted emergency services to the presence of human remains in the area.
Locating the victims was not without logistical challenges. Initially, state and federal forces searched the reported perimeter without success. However, after a more precise cartographic analysis, it was determined that the exact location was within the boundaries of the municipality of Ojinaga.
Ojinaga Municipal Police officers arrived at the scene, supported by members of the National Guard and the Secretariat of National Defense. At the site, the officers confirmed the presence of three bodies: two men and one woman.
According to unofficial reports, the woman’s body was wrapped in plastic and pieces of blankets, a scene that demonstrates the brutality with which the crime was committed.
The State Attorney General’s Office was responsible for verifying that the remains belonged to the Soto Núñez siblings, residents of Aldama. According to previously issued missing person reports, Elizabeth was 45 years old, while Abel and Israel were 36 and 35 years old, respectively.
Uriel, the alleged stalker of Claudia Sheinbaum, has been granted an extension for the legal proceedings he faces in Mexico City.
Preliminary reports from forensic experts indicate that the three victims had gunshot wounds to the head, suggesting a targeted execution.
Nevertheless, the bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for autopsies to scientifically determine the causes of death, as well as the exact time they had been at the location.
The brothers were kidnapped on Monday, January 6, when an armed group violently stormed their home in Aldama and abducted them. This case has once again brought attention to the crisis of disappearances plaguing the central region of the state.
While the crime scene was being processed, a group of relatives of missing persons in Aldama held a critical meeting in the city of Chihuahua with the Attorney General, César Jáuregui Moreno.
During the meeting, accompanied by activist Gabino Gómez from the Women’s Human Rights Center (Cedhem), a key name was brought up: Ervey T. S., alias “El Bizcocho.”
Gómez indicated that, following this individual’s recent arrest, numerous families have expressed their fear and suspicion that he is directly linked to the criminal group responsible for the forced abductions in the area.
