The goal is to encourage foreign investment in the southern region of the state of Chihuahua, according to an exclusive statement by the U.S. Consul General in Ciudad Juárez, Rafael Foley, who has been exploring the tourist attractions of Parral and Allende since Wednesday.

Following yesterday’s meeting between the Mayor of Parral and the U.S. Consul General in Ciudad Juárez, Rafael Foley, the U.S. government representative offered an exclusive statement to El Sol de Parral.

“I’ve been a consul in Ciudad Juárez for a year, but our consular district is the entire state of Chihuahua, and I hadn’t had the opportunity to visit the southern part of the state. I really wanted to get to know it, and that’s why I’ve come to Parral and Valle de Allende now,” he stated.

He emphasized that the United States’ interests in Parral are security and prosperity, highlighting that Chihuahua is a state he classified as “an economic powerhouse,” important for the northern country.

The consul was asked what projects could be worked on in Parral, and he emphasized that it depends on the type of initiative the state of Chihuahua wants to promote, emphasizing that there is openness to generating collaborative and mutually beneficial actions.

“It depends on what the agents of Parral themselves, what the people of Chihuahua themselves want to promote. There are certainly opportunities, and we were discussing them with business leaders in Parral; there are opportunities to attract them,” he commented.

It is worth noting that this Thursday morning, the U.S. consul toured attractions in the city of Parral, such as the Alvarado Palace and the Francisco Villa Museum.

He concluded by emphasizing that “there is always a benefit when these types of meetings or approaches are consolidated, allowing for exploration and the identification of areas of opportunity where governments can grow.”
