Formation of a tornado in Chihuahua triggers a preventive alert.

The Chihuahua State Civil Protection Coordination (CEPC) reported the formation of a low-intensity tornado in the municipality of Gómez Farías, according to a report issued by the Municipal Civil Protection Unit. Given this situation, a preventive alert was issued for residents of the region, with the aim of reducing risks arising from the strong winds associated with the phenomenon.

The CEPC urged residents to remain indoors, avoid leaving home, and remain in safe spaces while the emergency situation develops. To reinforce security inside homes and buildings, it is recommended:

Stay away from windows and glass that could break due to the force of the wind.
Secure objects that could be lifted or projected by strong gusts.
Follow official instructions through institutional channels.

Wind forecast for Wednesday in Chihuahua

The CEPC reported that gusts exceeding 45 km/h are expected in northern municipalities such as Juárez and Ahumada; in the south-central region, in Julimes, Camargo, and La Cruz; and in the far south, in Hidalgo del Parral and Jiménez.

Winds exceeding 35 km/h are also expected in towns such as Guadalupe, Nonoava, Cusihuiriachi, Cuauhtémoc, Meoqui, Delicias, Saucillo, Ojinaga, and Manuel Benavides.

Rainfall forecast for municipalities in the state

The weather forecast indicates scattered to moderate rainfall with showers between 5.1 and 25 mm in:

Ahumada, Ascensión, Janos, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Galeana, Madera, Buenaventura, Temósachic, Guazapares, Ocampo, Uruachi, Chínipas, and Urique.
Likewise, isolated to scattered rains of between 2.1 and 5 mm are expected in:

Juárez, Guadalupe, Práxedis G. Guerrero, Casas Grandes, Ignacio Zaragoza, Gómez Farías, Namiquipa, Matachí, Bachíniva, Guerrero, Maguarichi, Bocoyna, Guachochi, Nonoava, San Francisco de Borja, Cusihuiriachi, Cuauhtémoc, Riva Palacio, Chihuahua, Gran Morelos, Santa Isabel, Aldama and Julimes.
