During the presentation of the preliminary report on crime incidence as of February 24, 2025, Figueroa highlighted the sustained reduction in the daily average of homicides nationwide, going from 100.5 victims in 2018 to 71.6 today.

“Since the beginning of the administration to date, the daily average has been reduced by 24.9%, going from 86.9 in September 2018 to the preliminary figure of 75.29 victims in February 2025,” he explained.

According to the report, more than half of the country’s intentional homicides are concentrated in six entities: Guanajuato (15.4%), State of Mexico (7.5%), Baja California (6.7%), Michoacán (6.5%), Jalisco (5.7%) and Sonora (5%).

Figueroa noted that the final data for February will be presented in the next security report. He also reiterated that the Mexican government is maintaining its strategy of addressing the causes to ensure the well-being and safety of the population.
