According to teacher Monica Abdo, head of the Department of Road Culture of the Sub-directorate of the Road Police, licenses issued in other states; as well as foreign ones, are valid to drive in the entity, as long as they are valid.

In this sense, she stressed that as long as drivers respect the traffic regulations and have a valid license, they will be able to circulate in the entity, as long as their license is valid.

The above is based on article 56 of the Law of Roads and Traffic, which says the following: People who have a driving license issued by authorities of other entities.

Federative, of the Federal District or abroad may drive vehicles on public roads, as long as they correspond to the type of vehicle in question, with the exception of the state public transport service.

In the event that the person has a driver’s license from another entity or another country and wants to process the local document, he/she must present the following, according to article 53.

To obtain a driver’s license in any of its forms, the applicant is required to meet, at least, the following requirements:

The only exception is when they are tourists, that is, they are only on vacation or passing through.
