The blockades on the free and toll roads between Mazatlán and Durango, in which burned trucks have been used to stop traffic in both directions, have affected dozens of Chihuahua businessmen who offer regional products there.
This was announced by the president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Federico Baeza Mares, who said that everything that is happening is a disgrace and that crime is stopping heavy traffic and threatening company trucks so that they do not travel on those roads.
“It is incredible what is happening on that road; there is no fear right now but we do need to coordinate efforts with Durango, Coahuila, Chihuahua, those three states need to coordinate security on roads together with the National Guard and other police forces,” said the president.
In addition to that, Baeza Mares said that this has been increasing since Culiacán moved to Mazatlán.
“The fear is that it will reach Durango; The truth is that we are facing a serious problem, if there is an impact on the companies that are installed in Mazatlán and there are businessmen from here who have already been affected, this is a reality, crime has taken over part of the highway network of all of Sinaloa,”.
In closing, Federico Baeza pointed out that this is a problem and that it is something that the people of Chihuahua should know.
“The issue in Mazatlán is complicated and there may come a time when there will be a struggle for the supply of food and other types of merchandise, we hope that the authorities can generate a press release where they give peace to the companies”.
The report on the highways was generated around 9:45 in the morning on September 14, a fact that was confirmed by the mayor of Mazatlán, Edgar González.
“There is no way to Durango, there is a way to Culiacán, there is a way to Guadalajara, there is certainty to travel on those roads. There is no way to get through to Durango for the time being, it will surely be re-established, whenever there is a blockade it is re-established quickly and obviously it has not gone any further, it is a blockade, nothing more,” said the councillor.
