Chihuahua.- A new ‘narco banner’ has been found at kilometer 33 of the highway that connects Chihuahua with Ciudad Juárez, exactly replicating the message of another banner found this morning on the Periférico de la Juventud in the city of Chihuahua.
The message on both banners is identical, warning that “Chihuahua has an owner” and referring to the recent incidents in Nuevo Delicias. The text threatens the extortionists with facing consequences similar to those of the “pigs of Nuevo Delicias,” accused of homicide and extortion.
The first banner was discovered before 7 a.m. on a pedestrian bridge over Miguel de Cervantes Street, near the campus II of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACh). Local authorities, after receiving the report at 911, proceeded to remove it quickly with the collaboration of the Municipal Police and the State Attorney General’s Office, who began investigations into the matter.
