Suspension of non-essential activities in Quintana Roo will continue

Cancun, Quintana Roo. After Covid-19 cases have increased by hundreds every 24 hours in recent days, Governor Carlos Joaquín decreed the extension of the suspension of non-essential activities from January 16 to February 15.

Through his social networks, the state government reported that to protect the health of those who work in the state government, “I decree the extension of the suspension of non-essential activities face-to-face work from January 16 to February 15″.

Similarly, through a statement on the same social networks, dated by the Mayor’s Office and the Ministry of Finance and Planning (Sefiplan), the dependencies and parastatal entities of the public administration of the state of Quintana Roo were informed that “As instructed by an agreement issued by the state governor, published in the Official Gazette of Quintana Roo on January 16, 2021, the suspension of non-essential face-to-face work is extended, as well as legal terms and deadlines, from January to February 15 of this year.

Citizens are informed that the attention to procedures and the provision of services to the public, provided by the state government, will continue to function promptly.

Those work activities related to the collection, audits, attention of procedures, and provision of services to the public, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Public Security, state health services, the State Coordination of Civil Protection, the local and special boards, and courts, all of conciliation and arbitration, and labor defense attorney’s offices, and those considered essential ”.

Last Sunday, the Ministry of Health did not release the update of the figures but on Saturday it reported that Quintana Roo registered 16,931 positive cases of coronavirus and 2,129 deaths, 131 new cases than a day before and nine more deaths.

It should be remembered that last Thursday, when updating the epidemiological traffic light, the governor warned that preventive measures had to be strengthened because Quintana Roo was very close to returning to the orange traffic light, with the respective economic restrictions.
