Copa Airlines will resume the Monterrey – Panama route on January 11

After nine months of being on hiatus, Copa Airlines announced that this January 11 the flight between Monterrey and the Tocumen International Airport in Panama, the Hub of the Americas, will restart operations.

With this route, the main air hub in the north of the country will be connected to the network of the Panamanian airline in Central and South America.

Copa Airlines will operate the Monterrey – Panama route with two weekly frequencies, leaving the Monterrey capital at 8:52 am and arriving in Panama in the Panamanian city at 2:16 pm. The return flight will depart at 10:23 am to arrive in Monterrey at 1:53 pm.

For this flight, the airline will use a Boeing 737-800 with a capacity for 160 passengers, of which 16 are in Business Class. Tickets are already on sale, and customers who have a valid ticket can manage their change without charge for the movement.

Pedro Heilbron, Executive President of Copa Airlines, commented “Reconnecting Monterrey, through our Hub of the Americas, fills us with optimism, since with these flights we will be able to serve thousands of passengers who wish to return home , reunite with their relatives, return to their favorite rest destinations ”.

For his part, Miguel Ángel Cantú, general director of the Nuevo León Tourism Development Corporation (Codetur) pointed out that “reconnecting Monterrey through the offer of flights like the one that Copa Airlines offers to Central and South America is a great opportunity to promote the development of the tourist and economic industry of Nuevo León ”.

For Ricardo Dueñas, CEO of Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA), said “After a year of challenges in the industry, we started reactivating key routes together with air operators. The direct connection with Panama through Copa Airlines will allow our passengers to have a diverse offer of connection to Latin America and the Caribbean, strengthening Monterrey as the Hub of Northern Mexico ”.

Dueñas added that “The travel experience in this new reality entails safety and hygiene actions applied in both airports and aircraft and it is everyone’s commitment to comply with the new measures for Safe Travel.”
